Offering everything we do to God helps us to see things through to their proper completion, to be more effective in our daily duties and normal labors, to be more cheerful towards those around us and to be more generous and available to others in their needs.
SAINT PAUL says Christians are to do as much: “Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31). And, again, he teaches: “Whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him” (Colossians 3:17).
Known to some Christians as the MORNING OFFERING, it is a venerable daily spiritual discipline to voice a simple prayer early in the day so that all that follows be done for God’s greater glory and honor. How different our day stands to be every time we approach it from the start as the only day we have to offer to God. One day will be our last this side of heaven, yet we will have offered that day, too, to Almighty God.
