Reconciliation

“Jesus said to Peter, ‘I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven’.”

Matthew 16:19

Sometimes simply called “Penance” or “Confession”, the SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION was instituted by Jesus in order to provide a perpetual means for God’s boundless mercy and forgiveness to be administered by a priest for the benefit of a penitent. By means of this Holy Sacrament, Jesus assures all people of right relationship with Him and His Church.

Sacred Scripture teaches that right relationship with the Church is inseparable from right relationship with God; that is, they are one and the same reality.

Children in second grade prepare for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist throughout the year. They celebrate their First Reconciliation (or “Confession”) prior to receiving their First Holy Communion.

We gladly assist older Catholic children and adults who for a variety of reasons have never celebrated Reconciliation and desire to do so.

Confessions are offered Wednesday at 5:00pm | Saturday at 3:45pm | Sunday at 7:45am; 10:15am; and 4:45pm in the Saint John Paul II Room. All Confessions will end 15 minutes prior to the start of Mass. Appointments will also gladly be scheduled by contacting Fr. Jason at [email protected]
