Jesus states very clearly in John’s Gospel “If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
I want to be free. I value my freedom. My desire for freedom is much more than simply being able to do what I want when I want. I long for the freedom that results from living from my true self, from being the person God created me to be. I will only experience this freedom if I am willing to face the truth of all that gets in the way of my complete and total surrender to God’s will. If I remain rooted in the Word of God and seek His help in living a life conformed to His Word, I will embrace the truth and the truth will set me free.
Lord, help me live in truth and freedom today.
