In today’s Gospel, Jesus invites us to do a bit of a “heart checkup”. He states clearly “For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.”
How do we know where our treasure is? We might begin by asking ourselves:
How do we spend our time and resources?
With whom do we associate or gravitate toward?
Who or what triggers our energy and passion?
Who or what brings us happiness?
Finding our fulfillment in God first brings right order to all other relationships and allows us to keep a proper perspective. We are called to check our heart health daily and to be on guard against anything that could get in the way of our loving God and being loved by Him.
