Today’s Responsorial Psalm reminds me why I have good cause to hope.
“Even when I walk through a dark valley, I fear no harm for you are at my side; your rod and staff give me courage” (Ps. 23: 4).
God does not promise to take away suffering and darkness, but He does promise to be with me in my suffering, at my side, giving me courage. It is for me to choose to lean into Him for support and courage rather than running ahead or lagging behind.
