The True Meaning of Easter

What would it look like if we dared to live the entire Easter season as intentional disciples and communities of conscious believers?

For far too many people and parishes, Easter likens a Lenten finish linen instead of the the beginning of a profound and sustained encounter with the Risen Lord it is intended to be. The fact is, the Church heralds Easter Sunday as the first day of the splendid 50-day event culminating with the fulfillment of Jesus’ promise of the reception of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. So, then:

  • What if our ordinary living radiated the awe and wonder of Jesus’ Resurrection as recorded in Sacred Scripture?
  • What if we took to heart Jesus’ instruction to live in Him without fear?
  • What if we were to imitate the first disciples and humbly allow the Holy Spirit, the Lord the Giver of Life, to lead our lives every day?
  • How about we give it a try today and throught the Easter season?
