In today’s Gospel Reading, Jesus enters a synagogue on a Sabbath day and meets a man with a withered hand (Luke 6:6-11). The scribes and Pharisees intently watch to see what Jesus will do as there was no danger of death that the Law prescribed for Sabbath healing to be permissible.
Jesus calls the man forward and tells him to stretch out his hand and a miraculous healing happens (v. 10).
It is important to note that the divine healing is made possible partly through the man’s obedience to Jesus’ instructions.
