How quickly things can change!
Only last Sunday Jesus declared Peter as the bedrock of the Church (Matthew 16:18). Today, Jesus condemns Peter as a stumbling block (v. 22).
Peter insists he has a vastly superior plan for Jesus.
Why do we similarly assert knowing how to run things better than God?
Jesus’ defines His genuine disciples: deny yourself, take up your cross and follow me (v. 24).
Anything less in our daily living instead makes us a stumbling block.
