The Lord is Risen Indeed (4/20)

In today’s Gospel another resurrection story is heard at Mass (Luke 24:35-48). After having appeared to Mary Magdalene, to the other woman, to Peter and to the disciples traveling to Emmaus, Jesus reveals Himself to the Eleven. Neither seeking revenge nor retribution, the resurrected Lord Jesus only wants them to be certain about His resurrection. This truth is the cornerstone of faith: Jesus is alive! Stated differently, faith in the Risen Lord Jesus is not a result of enthusiasm nor the fancy of imagination, but of facts which they themselves were able to confirm repeatedly.
