LENT is the special season of grace throughout which the Church calls to lessen our attachment to the things of the earth so that our hearts are filled more completely with God.
All the things God has made and given to us are meant to lead us to love Him. When things are not leading us to love God, they become twisted into evil things that lead us away from Him.
