Sin involves a denial of Christ in some fashion. It is our greatest downfall. All the more reason this holiest of weeks that we struggle with even greater determination and resolution of heart while always relying on divine grace.
Remember, too, that contrition strengthens the bonds of friendship with Our Lord. Our mistakes never need defeat us so long as we retain genuine humility. A heartfelt expression of repentance always occasions a new encounter with Our Lord. Let us make our way to Jesus as often as necessary without getting anxious even though we rightly are sorrowful for our failings.
The halls of heaven are full of repentant sinners. So, then, let us dare to repent!
