There are some people who believe they are religious because they go to church even though the week thereafter they desperately want to blend in with everyone else, joining in acts of deception, spewing ugly gossip, seeking self-promotion and the like.
This is no way of truly rendering to God what belongs to God (Mt 22:15-21).
Jesus says that following Him is about always being light and salt. That is, He empowers us and expects us to transform the world in which we live. The week thereafter for intentional disicples is marked by striving to help as many as possible see and encounter the Risen Lord Jesus.
