“Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me” (Matthew 16:24).
Jesus Himself interprets the meaning of the way of the cross. It is the path He blazed for us and for our salvation. It is the path of love alone, the path of the fullness life. Intentional disciples dare to follow Jesus, making the way of the cross their own route across the earthly stage.
Of course, Jesus accompanies us every step in a real though mysterious manner way.
The enduring truth of the way of the cross is unmistakably clear: only by giving our life away can we save it.
