Now I See (3/22)

Last week it was a Samaritan woman (John 4:5-42). Hardened by her own daily struggle and poor life choices, Jesus (still!) meets her right where she is. Jesus goes to her and invites her to think beyond her disappointment and suffering. Initially skeptical, she slowly comes to see GOD clearly and, then, to worship HIM in spirit and truth!

Today, we hear the story of a man born blind (John 9:1-41). Although he is physically unable to view the world, the man born blind sees in a different way. He sees by the light of Jesus Who, like the Samaritan woman, comes to him. While the scribes and Pharisees milling around the man born blind are able to view the natural world, tragically they remain blind to divine light – the only light that ultimately matters.
