LENT sounds the great call to turn more completely towards God. This is made so by using all the means to live as He expects us to live. Above all else we must be entirely sincere with ourselves – no pretentions, no posturing, no pretending. As we love God more wholeheartedly, the moorings are loosened from all those things not of God.
JESUS desires a contrite heart and humble disposition. Acknowledge sin and in doing so claim Jesus anew as Savior!
It is for each of us to create a specific plan and to live it throughout the next 40 days. One special act of fasting (self-sacrifice), one special act of almsgiving (self-giving), one specific commitment of prayer.
This Lent let us dare to go the distance, to really draw closer to God, to experience a deepening joy in our hearts.
