As the holiest of days nears, remember that pious actions cannot be divorced from daily living.
When properly practiced prayergrafts us to Jesus like branches are joined with the vine (cf. John 15). Of course, it is not our doing, but God’s making it so with us, drawing us to Himself more completely. It is what we call graceat work within us and through us.
Never do genuine Christians concern themselves with multiplying pious actions. Rather, spiritual words and actions are designed to bring about deep abiding union with Christ Jesus.
To the degree we are united with God, divine grace will affect all of our activities.
Live with Christ every moment of the day – at work, at school, at home, at play, in the family and among friends.
