Today we commemorate the birth of Mary. Nothing extraordinary accompanied her birth. The Gospels make no mention of the event. The world took no special notice, merely charging onward with its attention fixed squarely upon other interests.
Mary’s birthday gives us cause to consider that what gives heaven cause to rejoice often goes unrecognized by humanity.
