Earlier today an event took place that the world has not witnessed in over 700 years. Of course, never before would anyone have even known about it, let alone seen pictures from the meeting between a former pope and current pope.

Notice the crucifix above the tabernacle is covered in purple. Best guess? Last Sunday (5th Sunday of Lent) was called “Passion Sunday” on the older liturgical calendar and called for the veiling of the crucifix, statues and all images on that day through the remainder of Lent.
