Our failures can lead to progress in the interior life so long as we react to them with humility and a more resolute determination to follow Jesus.
Perseverance not avoiding falling at all costs, but rather daring to get up again and brush ourselves off when we fall short.

Friends, Jesus wants us to begin again every time we feel we have failed in our interior life and in our daily living. By marshalling the conviction of “beginning anew today”, we never will be haunted by the specter of discouragement which as plunged so many souls into mediocrity and unhappiness.
