The Art of Imitation (7/29)

Real Christian discipleship has a nary a concern for new and improved.

Jesus’ clear call is to follow Him. Those who dare to take His summons to heart are expected to imitate Him.

Of course, imitating Jesus in our daily living will meet with opposition both from those who oppose Christian truth as well as from those who ever so sadly practice an anemic version of the Faith.

Mature and committed followers – intentional disciples – set aside ambitions to be popular and comfortable. They are driven instead to imitate Jesus even when right conduct provokes criticism or rejection. After all, our Lord teaches that living our faith is a requirement for being His disciple, no matter what the consequences may be.

How should my life be more aligned to Jesus’ words and actions?

Ask Our Blessed Lord for the strength to know His Will to to make it our own today.
