With the deeply unnerving events happening in Massachusetts and Texas, I am happy to share with you a prayer for peace from a remarkable disciple of Christ and great citizen of this county. Saint Francis Xavier Cabrini, more commonly called “Mother Cabrini”. is the first United States citizen to be canonized as saint and her inspired words seem especially timely.
“Fortify me with the grace of Your Holy Spirit and give Your peace to my soul that I may be free from all needless anxiety, solicitude and worry. Help me to desire always that which is pleasing and acceptable to You so that Your will may be my will.”
