- Last’s week Gospel concludes with an astonishing statement from Jesus to the apostles: “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” (Matthew 14:31).
- In stark contrast, today we hear Jesus praising a Canaanite woman (a pagan!): “O woman, great is your faith!” (Matthew 15:28).

- Don’t confuse routine with commitment. Little faith corresponds with the former; great faith the latter.
