Ezekiel 34:11-12, 15-17
The prophet Ezekiel is inspired to depict God in terms of His being a true shepherd. This passage harkens the beautiful words of our Lord Jesus as being the Good Shepherd who takes care of His sheep. A flock is kept safe by the vigilant care of a human shepherd. So much more can we be confident and secure by the unceasing care of our God who is our shepherd.
Matthew 25:31-46
The Church year closes with the great description of the last or final judgment of Christ Jesus. Everything we do or fail to do to the least of our brothers and sisters we do or fail to do to God. Stated differently, it is in the least among us that we meet Christ Jesus our Judge and King.
