In today’s Gospel, we again hear the voice of John the Baptist (John 1:6-8, 19-28). John, a man of faith, explains to his inquirers with perfect conviction that the blessed Lord Jesus has been living among them for 30 years and that they do not know Him because He has not yet revealed Himself by miracles.
John’s words matter greatly for us.
Jesus is really present in our midst: present in the Eucharist and other Holy Sacraments, present in our souls by grace which makes Him present in those whom we encounter daily.
Do we recognize Jesus?
Only those who believe recognize Jesus.
Advent sounds the call to revive our faith and by doing so finding Jesus.
