In today’s Gospel Jesus says, “Come to me” (Matthew 11:28).
Let us take Him at His word and immediately make our way to Him. Do not delay! He personally summons everyone to come to Him and to do so exactly as we are – in real need of divine mercy, healing and peace.
Friends, Jesus invites us to Him to rid us our imperfections. To get out from underneath the havoc that anger, disappointment, discouragement, fear and grief cause, go to Jesus.
Just imagine the delight of our interactions with others more often becoming the occasion where the peace of Christ is shared through us and less about the weightiness of of woes!
Jesus, let me come to you just as I am – burdened and wearied…angry and sullen … discouraged and fearful … suffocating from grief … I want to come to You … I want to be with You … Oh, how I need You! O sweet Jesus, release me from all that burdens and wearies me … let me find rest by receiving Your gift of peace.
