Leading Others to Bethlehem (12/7)

Every day we meet family, friends and colleagues who have lost the sense of what truly is most important. They slink through the day discouraged and confused, struggling to make changes in their lives they might even say they want to happen but do not know how. For them, days are dreary, hope is elusive and joy is absent.

This time of year makes it even more challenging for many of these people. The godless culture trumpets superficiality and scorns substance. Many want to escape from the shadow of shallowness and banality yet they do not know how to experience true and lasting freedom.

Intentional disciples are the ones who dare to show those whom they meet the way to Bethlehem. That is where the one and only Lord, Savior and Messiah abides. That is where meaning and purpose is discovered and recevied.

God eagerly awaits our arrival and to bring those to Him those whom we meet along the way!

If we are to do this for others we first must know the way ourselves. Thus, we ourselves must be alive interiorly. It never is enough to know about Jesus, but rather we must know Him. He invites us to know Him personally and intimately. This comes about when we talk daily with Jesus, spend time with Him and strive, always with His help, to improve those aspects in our lives that need improvement.

We must place all our hope in God alone.
