Luke 16:19-31
In the Gospel Reading Jesus accentuates the stark polarity between the carousing life of the rich man and the misery of the poor man. In the next life, this gap will become a final and unbridgeable abyss between repose in Abraham’s bosom and torment in the fiery underworld.
