Thank you for your prayerful and generous consideration of how you can help us achieve our goals on October 1, 2026

Our parish Feast Day is coming, which also means it is time for our annual #LittleTuesday campaign to enhance our community life. Each year we use this as an opportunity to improve our parish and school communities in a variety of ways. This year is no different. What better way to honor our beloved patroness than by continuing to do little – and not so little – things with great love! Please read below for this year’s opportunities:

Completing the upgrade from fluorescent lighting to LED lighting throughout the building

We have upgraded much of our building to LED lighting, including the gym, several classrooms, and the church itself. However, there are still 135 light fixtures throughout the building that require updating. To pursue long-term savings, we have decided to invest in converting the remaining fixtures to LED and eliminate the old fluorescent lights still present.

Unfortunately, tax credits for projects of this nature have now been changed to tax deductions. As a non-profit organization, we are not eligible for these deductions. Additionally, to obtain a deduction to reduce our installation costs, an energy study would need to be conducted, which can cost up to $10,000, making it impractical in our situation.

Despite the absence of tax credits, the potential short-term and long-term cost savings are significant. By converting the remaining fixtures to LED, we could achieve energy savings of approximately 21,000 kWh, equating to annual savings of around $2,700.

The Cost of fully replacing the remaining 135 fixtures throughout the building is: $22,600

St. Benedict: Liaison Officer financial help

Last year, we introduced security officers at our school, which were paid for by our Endowment interest income since the need for security arose after our budget was set. This year we do have this expense in our budget but as a brand-new expense line, it adds stress to an already tight budget.

We have enhanced security during important times throughout the school week and are requesting your support in providing liaison officers to ensure the safety of our community. Any contributions toward this initiative will help protect our students and faculty, as well as alleviate some pressure on the school budget. This line item to the budget is $25,000.

Please consider helping offset our security costs: $10,000

Technology Upgrades for in person and livestream Mass experience

There have been ongoing technical difficulties with our technology in the church. This has affected both in-person and remote worship over the past few months. We have been managing to keep things running, but our IT professionals have informed us that the computer we use for slides and livestream is nearing the end of its usable life. We need to replace this computer and are also looking to enhance our livestream capabilities by adding additional equipment to facilitate smoother transitions during Mass. Those participating from home may have noticed that the transitions between the presider’s chair, the altar, and the ambo can sometimes be abrupt. The planned upgrades aim to improve these transitions, leading to a better viewing experience.

Cost of replacing and upgrading our church and livestream technology: $7,500
