God’s action in our daily living requires sincere desire on our part to overcome our faults and failings. We must want God to be God while wanting ourselves to live differently; that is, to be less beholden to certain impulses and proclivities that fail to bring forth the best version of our our self. Just as an artist patiently labors to overcome shortcomings and a writer perseveres to hatch words even when they are tough to find, so too do we never want to collapse to temptations to settle into personal weaknesses that keep us from God and keep God from acting in our ordinary experience.
