The biblical word for “tempted” can also mean “tested.” God never tempts anyone to do evil, although He will use circumstances to test a person’s character.
When God permits temptation, never does He permit us to be tempted beyond our strength. Accompanying every temptation is a special actual grace sufficient to overcome it. Instead of being unnerved by the intensity of the struggle, use the grace – power – God always makes available.
Turn to God quickly, humbly and confidently.
“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial,for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life which God has promised to those who love Him” (James 1:12).
