Palm Sunday (4/14)

Holy Week beings with the dramatic description of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem on the Sunday before His Passion.

Having always been opposed to any public acclamation, in this moment Jesus permits Himself to be greeted triumphantly. Jesus only submits to the crowds heralding Him publicly as the Messiah in the nearness of His Cross.

He allows Himself to be recognized as King, but as a King who will reign supremely from His Cross.

The blessed palms we receive today represent the victory Jesus is about win for us and for our salvation.
