Keeping Watch for God (11/28)

Advent means “arrival”.

An important question follows: for whom are you waiting? Well, Christians await no less than the coming of God.

When we anticipate the arrival of someone, we ready ourselves for the meeting. We look and listen and pay closer attention especially as the time draws nearer to when we expect a friend to walk through our door.

The special season of Advent sounds the call for us to live more thoughtfully and more sincerely for God. Advent is a time for us to look and listen and pay closer attention to God. With ever heightening expectations of God’s arrival, let us dare to allow ourselves to be drawn closer to Christ Jesus in the midst of our ordinary experience.

  • What adjustments do you need to make to correct the course of your life direction?
  • How are your readying yourself for God Who is coming to you?
  • When will you celebrate the Sacrament of Penance before Christmas?

“The clean of hand and pure of heart, who has not given his soul to useless things, what is vain will receive blessings from the LORD, and justice from his saving God” (Psalm 24:4-5)
