Humility (3/21)

There is no one who does not fancy in their own excellence. It fuels self-inflation. Actions and accomplishments quickly are embellished. As a result we become haughty and obstinate and relations with others get prickly. It lowers us terribly.

The virtue of humility keeps our own excellence in check. It keeps us in our proper place. It grounds us in reality as it truly is. In this way, humility is truthby making us know ourselves as we really are along with our actual place in relation to God and others.

Humility never lowers, it always elevates.
