Foundations (Grades K–6) helps to lay a foundation for youth to live as disciples of Jesus in our world today. Using Catechesis of the Good Shepherd–a hands-on, Montessori-based approach to teaching the Catholic Faith–youth are encouraged to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church through times of prayer, work, and presentations that teach the fundamental truths of our Catholic faith. Sessions include lessons on the Gospel and the Liturgy, especially focusing on the parables of Jesus and the sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, and the Eucharist.
Foundations occurs for two 12 week sessions in both the Fall and the Spring (September–May) on Sundays from 9:30-10:45 a.m.

To be fully initiated in the Catholic Church, one must receive the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist (First Holy Communion), and Confirmation. Chosen is the Confirmation program for the 7th and 8th grade parishioners of Little Flower.
Using Matthew Kelly’s Decision Point, along with small group discussion, youth are challenged to think about their life in the context of God’s plan for them—His dream “that they might have life and have it to the full,” (Jn 10:10) in and through the person of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
Chosen is held the second Sunday of every month, starting with Mass at 5:30 p.m. and ending at 8:00 p.m. (dinner included).

Little Flowers Girls’ Club
Little Flowers Girls’ Club, a Catholic program for girls ages five and up and their mothers, is based on learning Catholic virtues through the lives of Catholic saints, scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Developed by a Catholic mom of eleven, Rachel Watkins, and based on Fr. Lasance’s Catholic Girls Guide, the Club strives to bring the Catholic faith alive and inspire the girls to become authentic Catholic women. Nine virtues are included in each of three different wreaths or years of study. A fourth year, studying the fruits of the Spirit, is also available. The format of the Club is flexible, with groups meeting monthly, bi-monthly or weekly. Badges for the virtues are earned by studying the saint associated with the virtue, memorizing relevant scripture verses, and studying the Catechism. Girls also learn the beauty of authentic femininity and the sanctity and dignity of human life in a positive and joyful atmosphere.
Baptism – We ask parents who have not previously attended a preparation class to attend a class before your child’s baptism. Please call the Parish Center, 419.537.6655, to begin this process. Classes are scheduled in March, June, September and December. You need to only attend one.
First Reconciliation and First Eucharist – Preparation for the combined program of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist takes place in second grade for both St. Benedict Catholic School and the Little Flower Discipleship Academy*.
Confirmation – At Little Flower Parish (includes St. Benedict Catholic School and Little Flower Parish Chosen Program), Confirmation preparation takes place in seventh and eighth grade on the second Sunday of each month from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm.*
*Attendance in religious education classes from first grade through eighth grade either in St. Benedict Catholic School or in our Sunday Discipleship Academy is a requirement to be considered for enrollment into the sacramental preparation programs for First Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation.
